İNG 111 English I 
This is an elementary English course designed for beginners of English language. The students are expected to develop four basic language skills; listening, speaking, reading and writing through various kinds of teaching techniques and practices. The students are exposed to basic language structures and vocabulary with the help of authentic materials within real life context.

İNG 112 English I  
This course is the continuation of İNG 111 and aims at developing basic language skills. The course is also designed to enrich the students’ vocabulary range with the help of materials within real life context. The students will be able to use various communication and reading strategies by the end of the term.

İNG 103 English I
This is an elementary English course designed for beginners of English language. The learners are expected to develop four basic language skills; listening, speaking, reading and writing through various kinds of teaching techniques and practices. The learners are exposed to basic language structures and vocabulary with the help of authentic materials within real life context. At the end of this course learners proceed to Elementary Level.

İNG 104 English II
This is an elementary English course which follows ING 103.The learners are expected to develop four basic language skills; listening, speaking, reading and writing through various kinds of teaching techniques and practices. The learners are exposed to basic language structures and vocabulary with the help of authentic materials within real life context. At the end of this course learners are prepared to proceed to Pre-Intermediate level.

İNG 105  English I
This is an elementary English course designed for beginners of English language. The learners are expected to develop four basic language skills; listening, speaking, reading and writing through various kinds of teaching techniques and practices. The learners are exposed to basic language structures and vocabulary with the help of authentic materials within real life context. At the end of this course learners are prepared to proceed to Pre-Intermediate level.

İNG 106 English II
By the end of this pre-intermediate English course, students will have been able to read and understand written English texts, express their ideas orally and verbally, improve their listening skills, expand their vocabulary, speak in front of the public, describe and speak about the illustrations, make discussions about the given topics, follow information on the internet, in books and magazines and write paragraphs.

İNG 121 English I
This is an elementary English course designed for beginners of English language. The students are expected to develop four basic language skills; listening, speaking, reading and writing through various kinds of teaching techniques and practices. The students are exposed to basic language structures and vocabulary with the help of authentic materials within real life context.

İNG 122 English 
This course is the continuation of İNG 111 and aims at developing basic language skills. The course is also designed to enrich the students’ vocabulary range with the help of materials within real life context. The students will be able to use various communication and reading strategies by the end of the term. İNG 121 (English I) is also prerequisite for İNG 122 (English II).

İNG 205 English II
This is an elementary English course which follows ING 105.The learners are expected to develop four basic language skills; listening, speaking, reading and writing through various kinds of teaching techniques and practices. The learners are exposed to basic language structures and vocabulary with the help of authentic materials within real life context. At the end of this course learners are prepared to proceed to Intermediate level.

İNG 206 English IV
This is an English course which follows ING 205.The learners are expected to develop four basic language skills; listening, speaking, reading and writing through various kinds of teaching techniques and practices. The learners are exposed to basic language structures and vocabulary with the help of authentic materials within real life context.

İNG 211 English III
By the end of this pre-intermediate English course, students will have been able to read and understand written English texts, express their ideas orally and verbally, improve their listening skills, expand their vocabulary, speak in front of the public, describe and speak about the illustrations, make discussions about the given topics, follow information on the internet, in books and magazines and write paragraphs. İNG 211 (English III) is also prerequisite for İNG 212 (English IV). İNG 112 or İNG 104 (English II) is prerequisite for İNG 211 (English III).

İNG 212 English IV
By the end of this pre-intermediate English course, students will have been able to read and understand written English texts, express their ideas orally and verbally, improve their listening skills, expand their vocabulary, speak in front of the public, describe and speak about the illustrations, make discussions about the given topics, follow information on the internet, in books and magazines and write paragraphs. İNG 212 (English IV) is also prerequisite for İNG 311 (English V). İNG 211 (İngilizce III) is prerequisite for İNG 212 (İngilizce IV).

İNG 231 Expository Reading and Writing
This course aims to improve students’ expository reading and writing skills. Structural elements of a text, collocations, connectors, sentence heads and phrases for more effective expression are among the subjects to be studied. Texts that are related to students' fields are selected to be used as course material to motivate and involve students. This course also introduces students with basic terminology in their fields

İNG 232 Analytical Reading and Writing 
This course aims to improve students' analytical reading and writing skills. Structural elements of a text, collocations, connectors, passive voice and conditionals are among the subjects to be studied. Texts that are related to students' fields are selected to be used as course material to motivate and involve students. This course also introduces students with basic terminology in their fields.

İNG 251 Professional English I
The aim of this course is to teach the use of vocational vocabulary, technical terminology and literature. To develop critical writing and reading skills as well as to express opinions in group and class discussions are other objectives of the course.  The students are expected to develop their listening and reading skills through various academic texts. The students will be able to transfer their field knowledge to English in real business life situations.

İNG 252 Professional English II

This is an English course which follows İNG 251. The aim of this course is to teach the use of vocational vocabulary, technical terminology and literature. To develop critical writing and reading skills as well as to express opinions in group and class discussions are other objectives of the course.  The students are expected to develop their listening and reading skills through various academic texts. The students will be able to transfer their field knowledge to English in real business life situations.

İNG 253 Reading and Speaking
This course aims at improving students’ language level and their level in different skills, especially in reading and speaking as well as enabling them to write essays and listen and understand lectures on academic level. Content based course materials are chosen. This application also aims at contributing to students’ comprehension skills and critical thinking capacity about current trends and events, cultures and international events.

İNG 254 Academic Writing 
This course aims at providing students with academic writing skills. Articles and academic articles are the subjects of the course.

İNG 255 English III
This is an elementary English course which follows ING 105.The learners are expected to develop four basic language skills; listening, speaking, reading and writing through various kinds of teaching techniques and practices. The learners are exposed to basic language structures and vocabulary with the help of authentic materials within real life context. At the end of this course learners are prepared to proceed to Intermediate level.

İNG 256 English IV
This is an English course which follows ING 205.The learners are expected to develop four basic language skills; listening, speaking, reading and writing through various kinds of teaching techniques and practices. The learners are exposed to basic language structures and vocabulary with the help of authentic materials within real life context.

İNG 263 English for Business I 
This course is designed to enable students to develop their basic linguistic ability, in a predictable business English context to identify basic data, facts and instructions and to produce basic texts.

İNG 264 English for Business II 
This course is designed to enable students to develop the ability to read and understand basic business-related English texts and write basic English for simple, brief business communications.

İNG 273 English for Business I 
Students will have the opportunity to think about giving quick decisions, prioritizing options and completing charts upon their business lives. They will be presented to essential business vocabulary by reading interesting and relevant authentic texts from certain business newspapers.

İNG 274 English for Business II 
Students are supposed to gain the aimed skills in the key business areas of presentations, meetings, negotiations, telephoning and social English. With the case study units students are supposed to meet with realistic business problems or situations that are designed to motivate and actively engage students.

İNG 305 Professional English I
The aim of this course is to teach the use of vocational vocabulary, ability to follow technical terminology and literature, to develop critical writing and reading skills, to express opinions in group and class discussions.

İNG 306 Professional English II
This is an English course which follows ING 305.The aim of this course is to teach the use of vocational vocabulary, ability to follow technical terminology and literature, to develop critical writing and reading skills, to express opinions in group and class discussions.

İNG 354 Presentation Skills 
It is aimed at providing students with oral presentation skills needed in their academic and professional careers. It teaches students to search, prepare and present the presentations.

İNG 363 English for Business III 
This course is designed to enable students to develop the ability to write accurate English, understand and write in English using formats that are current and common in business communication, understand spoken and written Business English at the defined level and participate in conversations.

İNG 364 English for Business IV
This course is designed to enable students to develop the ability to understand and write English used in a variety of ways within a range of business contexts, employ appropriate business formats and styles to produce a range of business documents for different audiences and purposes, participate in conversations and discussions and make an oral presentation on a business-related topic.

İNG 463 English for Business V 
This course is designed to enable students to develop the ability to understand authentic business texts, write English in a wide variety of ways within an extensive range of business contexts, listen and understand business-related material such as conversations, announcements and short talks, give clear, detailed oral descriptions and presentations on complex subjects and express themselves orally in a clear and appropriate style on business or professional matters.

İNG 464 English for Business VI

This course is designed to enable students to develop the ability to understand routine work- or business-related information and/or instructions and to act upon these or respond appropriately and to produce a range of language which will be clearly understood by a listener.

ENG 010 Reading and Speaking
This course aims at providing students with academic writing skills. Articles and academic articles are the subjects of the course.

ENG 020 Academic Writing 
This course aims at providing students with academic writing skills in Sociology. Articles and academic articles are the subjects of the course.

ENG 030 Presentation Skills 
It is aimed at providing students with oral presentation skills needed in their academic and professional careers. It teaches students to search, prepare and present the presentations.

ENG 040 English for Business Life I 
This course is designed to enable students to develop their basic linguistic ability, in a predictable business English context to identify basic data, facts and instructions and to produce basic texts.

ENG 041 English for Business Life II 
It is the course which follows ENG 040 to achieve the same objectives.

İNG 115 English for Profession I
This course is designed to make students familiar with the specific terminology of nursing. The students are expected to develop their listening and reading skills through various academic texts. The students will be able to transfer their field knowledge to English in real business life situations.

İNG 116 English for Profession II 
This course is the continuation of İNG 115 and aims at developing field terminology by practicing these terms in listening, reading, speaking and writing activities. The students will be able to use their field knowledge in real business life situations by the end of the term.

ENG 141 English for Academic Purposes I 
This course provides the essential elements and some tips on preparing and organizing a successful oral presentation in English. Moreover this course explains some of the basics of effective oral presentation. It also covers use of notes, visual aids and computer presentation software.

ENG 142 English for Academic Purposes II
This is a course which follows ENG 141 with the same objectives.

ENG 231 Expository Reading and Writing

İNG 401 English for Engineering Profession I 
This course is designed to enable students to develop their linguistic ability, to identify basic data, facts and instructions and to produce basic texts and all technical and industrial specialisations in a predictable Technical English context.

İNG 402 English for Engineering Profession II 
It is the course which followsİNG 401 to achieve the same objectives.

İNG 501 English for Law I
This course aims to improve the students' English communication skills in a work environment. It also aims to incorporate career specific vocabulary and contexts.

İNG 502 English for Law II
It is the course which follows İNG 501 to achieve the same objectives.

TFL 001 Preparation for TOEFL Exam I  
The aim of this course is to give the students who have enough knowledge and skills to make a high score in the relevant exam, the opportunity to practice and to improve the necessary skills. The prerequisite for this course is to pass İNG 151 and İNG 152 courses with a grade of 80 or above.

TFL 002 Preparation for TOEFL Exam II
It is the course which follows TFL 001 to achieve the same objectives. The prerequisite for this course is TFL 001.

OTHER LANGUAGE COURSES

ALM 151 German I
It is aimed at improving the students’ level of listening comprehension, reading comprehension, and of speaking and writing, and enabling them to understand daily speech and to learn about German culture.

ALM 152 German II

It is the course which follows ALM 151 to achieve the same objectives. The prerequisite for this course is ALM 151.

ARA 151 Arabic I

This course is designed for students with no previous knowledge of Modern Standard Arabic. Students are aimed to gain reading, writing, narrative and conversational skills. Students will learn the Arabic alphabet, basic writing and conversational skills, and entry-level Arabic grammar, including gender of nouns and verbs and regular conjugations. Students will also be exposed to Arabic culture and customs of polite society.RUS 151 Russian I

ARA 152 Arabic II
It is the course which follows ARA 151 to achieve the same objectives. The prerequisite for this course is ARA 151.

ÇİN 151 Chinese I
The students will gain basic speaking and listening skills in Chinese in addition to learning basic writing methods of Chinese characters. They will be able to carry on basic conversations in the Chinese language.

ÇİN 152 Chinese II
It is the course which follows ÇİN 151 to achieve the same objectives. The prerequisite for this course is ÇİN 151.

FRA 151 French I
This course aims to teach students how to introduce themselves as written and orally. in French

FRA 152 French II
It is the course which follows FRA 151 to achieve the same objectives. The prerequisite for this course is FRA 151.

İTA 151 Italian I
Students become able to understand and use everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type, introduce themselves and others,  talk about their hobbies, and give an opinion about any topic.

İTA 152 Italian II
It is the course which follows İTA 151 to achieve the same objectives. The prerequisite for this course is İTA 151.

İSP 151 Spanish I
It aims to help the students gain the required skills to understand and use everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type, to introduce themselves and others, to ask and answer questions about personal details such as where they live, people they know and their possessions and interact in a simple way provided that the other person talks slowly and clearly with a readiness to help.

İSP 152 Spanish II
It is the course which follows İİSP151 to achieve the same objectives. The prerequisite for this course is İSP 151.

İSP 251 Spanish III
The students will be able to gain the required skills to understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography and employment); to communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters and to describe in simple terms of aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.

İSP 252 Spanish IV 
It is the course which follows İSP 251 to achieve the same objectives.

RUS 151 Russian I
Studentr will have been able to learn Cyrillic alphabet, phonetics and intonation, read texts and comprehend basic Russian, express themselves in Russian, acquire writing and listening skills in Russian, learn necessary words and phrases needed in daily life and improve their knowledge about Russian literature, culture and society by means of texts and lectures.

RUS 152 Russian II
It is the course which follows RUS 151 to achieve the same objectives. The prerequisite for this course is RUS 151.

RUS 251 Russian III
It is the course which follows RUS 152 to achieve the same objectives. The prerequisite for this course is RUS 152.
