About the Programme
Our department has a curriculum composing of the fields of electrical energy systems, electronics and telecommunications, and covers vocational and new technological improvements as well as mathematics and basic sciences. Language of education is English.
Students gain the experience of application and business life by attending internship during summer time. By preparing seminars and graduation projects, students improve their research, design, teamwork and presentation skills. Students also have the opportunity to attend double major or minor programmes with one of Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Software Engineering, Civil Engineering and Energy Systems Engineering Departments. Students can take social courses or language courses as the university elective courses in our programme. Moreover, they have the opportunity to study one-semester in the agreed national and international universities via Farabi and Erasmus programmes.
Education language of our department is Turkish. The compulsory internship is totally 40 workdays. 20 workdays of internship can be completed after taking the second year courses, and the other 20 workdays can be completed after the taking the third year courses. However, 40 workdays of internship can be done as a whole after taking the third year courses.
Our graduate students, who completed the Electric Machines, High Voltage Technique, and Power Systems courses offered in our programme, can apply to the Turkish Chamber of Electrical and Electronics Engineering to obtain the certificate of “Independent Consultant Engineer” for Power Systems below 1 kV and above 1 kV.
To educate engineers in the field of electrical and electronics engineering, having the knowledge and capabilities to compete at international level, communicating efficiently, working individually and in a team, adopting life-long learning, following the progresses in his field and adding value to those, proposing innovative solutions to society’s problems, having self confidence, sensitive to universal values, obeying the ethics and aware of his responsibilities; and to produce and to disseminate knowledge and technology necessary for the societies.
To be a distinguished department among other national and international electrical-electronics engineering departments with its education, research and applications in the field of electrical-electronics engineering.
